Although this thread's pimary purpose is to make the below announcement, it can be used as a go-to 'music thread' as well.

For the Music Doc, the themes I'm coming up with are not originally main theme melodies. This is why I cut a lot of the Warcraft, AC2, TSFH, etc.

Above all, we don't want to put in an adaptation of a melody that's too recognizable, or else people will cry rip-off.

In addition, I'm liking all the suggestions, but that doc (or at least that portion of it) is reserved for what will eventually become FORUM's main theme. We can focus on scoring additional characters/events later, if we get that far (I wouldn't be against it, mind you, but priorities).

Hey, guys. This is BMS. First Iwould like to say sorry for being gone fro the past few days. I regret to say that I likely will not be able to take part in skype meetings nor g-doc work. My laptop recently has undergone an error of some kind resulting in failed system repair. I belive it has to do with something about syschk or dskinst or something like that. The person I went to, not a pro, but he said it had to do witth an error within the files of the OS itself. Suffice it so say, I will liekly be out for a while until I can get this fixed. I might be able to get on if I can use it on my mobile but that is always spotty. Again, sorry, and i hope this does not do too much to hinder the project.

I can manage on just about any brass intrument, and I have a bit of amateur experience with composition. I have a really good memory when it comes to music, though.

Multi-instrument compositions? Or just for one instrument?

I play it out by ear with my trombone for all parts, then write it out into a score. I think I could make a multi-instrument score work, although I've never tried it before. I don't have any kind of software.

Perhaps those who are willing to try should all try making their own compositions/scores and in the end, we will simply see what we like and choose one or merge a few to form the final?

That sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't put too much thought into this quite yet, since FORUM hasn't really gotten off the ground at all. Besides, I won't have access to my trombone or sheet music for at least another week.

I agree that not too much emphasis should be placed on music. I am also quite busy this week, so I'll probably start a week or two from now.
